Almost certainly yes. The East County Regional Center on East Main Street handles the criminal calendar for the entire eastern half of the county, DUI included. If you were arrested anywhere from La Mesa out to Alpine, expect your court dates in downtown El Cajon.
The charge is the same, but the case file isn't. CHP officers document stops differently than El Cajon PD — different report formats, different breath-testing logistics, sometimes different video sources — and those differences are where a defense starts.
